When you use SimpleClause, we may collect the following information: your email address when you create an account or make a purchase, the legal text you submit for simplification, and basic usage data such as the number of simplifications performed. We do not collect your name, phone number, or physical address unless you voluntarily provide it.
We use your information to provide and improve the ClearClause service, process payments through our payment provider Lemon Squeezy, send you receipts and account-related emails, and monitor usage to prevent abuse of the free tier.
The legal text you paste into ClearClause is sent to OpenAI's API for processing. We do not permanently store the text you submit. OpenAI may retain submitted text in accordance with their own privacy policy. We strongly recommend you do not submit documents containing sensitive personal information such as Social Security numbers, bank account details, or medical records.
ClearClause uses essential cookies to keep you logged in and remember your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If you have enabled analytics through our platform, anonymous usage data may be collected to help us improve the service.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We share data only with the following service providers who help us operate ClearClause: Supabase (database and authentication), OpenAI (text processing), Lemon Squeezy (payment processing), and Vercel (website hosting). Each of these providers has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.
Your account information is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data will be removed from our systems within 30 days. Anonymized usage statistics may be retained indefinitely.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time. To make a request, email us at privacy@simpleclause.me and we will respond within 14 days.
ClearClause is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us immediately.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of ClearClause after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
